I’ve purchased and read all of Pavel’s kettlebell books. If you want to build serious muscle mass then this is THE book to focus on. Warning: you will need a Pair of kettlebells as the book is focused on double kettlebell exercises, hence the added muscle mass.

Highly recommend this book to gain an understanding on how your muscles work into the stretch. I refer to this book often when helping people heal some muscle related pain.

This is a book that us good to add to a library of other fitness related titles. I'm hoping it helps my friend out a lot who has a bum leg...he's been regaining some more functionality to it lately, and I think if he works with this, it will aide him more, but I'm not sure yet. I do know that having read it myself, it helped me with my stretching, dispelled a lot of myths for me, and helped aide my new fitness routines. I would recommend it as a side book to a fitness library.

I almost didn't buy this book because some of the reviews are so negative...but I'm glad I did anyway. A few points:1. This method absolutely works...I say this after studying karate for 4 years (hundreds of kicks, stretching that included pouring water on the floor and having someone push down on your back, staying in stretched positions for up to an hour, etc..) yoga, stretch machines, standard stretch routines. Through all this, my stretch increased very little. I couldn't even sit on the floor with crossed legs without discomfort. My karate instructor used to say I had the flexibility of a rock. Pavel's method works. The concepts are simple, but revolutionary.2. There is enough information and stretching routines in the book to use over a life time. Some of the reviews criticize the fact that there's not enough info, too many pictures, etc...I appreciated the fact that I could quickly go throught the book and get right into the stretching.3. There is another reviewer who outlines all of the potentially harmful stretches based on his assessment as a doctor. However, he's writing about the the advanced stretching section of the book; extreme stretches, that Pavel states are clearly not for beginners.4. Appearances can be deceiving...for example I was experiencing slight lower back pain from one routine so I went back and re-read how to do the exercise and realized I was overstretching, not controlling my breathing and tension as described. So in spite of the clear, "simple" format of the book ("too many pictures" as one reviewer stated), it's quite a bit of info that should be read with care.5. One last point: this book is for those who need to get to the next level. (I can't believe someone recommended Anderson's "granny" stretch book over this one; give me a break) Whether to reach top levels of fitness, martial arts study, rock climbing, someone into total fitness. However, probably also worth reading for the weekend athlete to prevent injuries and avoid harmful stretching methods.Disclaimer: this is not a cheerleader review for Pavel. I have no connection with him whatsoever, just an extremely appreciative reader because I've been looking for this type of information for quite some time. If you want this same information, purchase this book without hesitation.

Overall I think this book is great. The reason it doesn't get five stars is for the lack of a program summary. In Enter the Kettlebell there was a very useful program summary on page 150 and 151. There is not quite as concise of a summary in this book. With that said I just wrote my own summary to condense chapter 4 into a one page template for myself.I haven't been doing this program long enough to make a definite judgement on it, but I like it so far. The two week blocks keep things fresh. I like the exercise choices. I have gained some muscle already and I am not new to kettlebells or heavy lifting.That brings up another point. There are lots of muscle building programs out there. Many of them work. I personally enjoy using kettlebells. That I think is really what sets this program apart. The fun and demanding kettlebell exercises in a solid program to build strength and muscle. There are only a couple of other books that offer such good programming for kettlebells. I definitely recommend this book to anyone that has done Enter the Kettlebell and is looking for another program to move on to.

Must have for increasing flexibility.
