Great age appropriate introduction to these Marvel characters! This is not so much as a story as it is an introduction to the characters and their jobs as Avengers. Perfect for my 4 year old grandson who is obsessed with hero characters that markets to his age even though he is much too young to see the movies.

First off we are super comic fans. The artwork is exceptional and colorful. This book is basically who is ...? Hulk? Generally one page for the answer. It's an introduction to each Avenger with no story line. It's not worth returning, so we will keep, but I was hoping for a storyline. Quality is the usual Golden Book level which is great.

Got this for my sons christmas gift and its a cute little books. Im happy with it.

My 3 year old LOVES superheroes, but isn't really ready for the movies or comics yet! This is a fantastic compromise and we ready it pretty much every night before bed nowadays!

My 2 year old grandson loves the Avengers and all super heroes. He knew I ordered this and was (im)patiently waiting for it to arrive. These books are great with not too many words on each page for young children to sit still for. And pages are colorful with enough "action" to keep young eyes occupied while the story is read to them.

More of an introduction to each Avengers character (one page per) and some of the villains than a story with a plot, but my kid loves it.

This book is affordable. It's also excellent in that it asks a ton of "would you rather" questions in a natural conversational manner that doesn't sound dry or instructive. I love it. I'm a social worker who works with children, and also have a 12 year old daughter. This book is a great conversation starter, ice breaker, and I sound really relaxed when I pull out my phone and pull up my kindle version of the book and randomly ask a question or two from the book. That is all that is needed and the conversations get going, and we get to know each other. This book has achieved its intended purpose. I bought this for my personal purposes and was paid for this review.

A good conversation starter for when our new step-grandkids visited. Some more serious trains of thought that make you think about who you are, and some silly laugh-inducing ones, a nice variety of topics. I think it would be great for keeping kids amused on long drives as it is a very slim book so wouldn't clutter the car too much. I looked at other "would you rather" books and some seemed too outrageous, or too boring. This is just right.

I bought this for my daughter to take to camp, and it was great! The girls passed away free time answering would you rather questions and having lots of fun laughing at the answers.

Gave as a gift to my grand daughter. She loved it

Our three granddaughters (age 10, 8 and 4) love to play this on our one hour trip to our house.

"Little Felted Dogs: Easy Projects for Making Adorable Pups" by Soari Yamazaki is an adorable little book that shows readers how to create their own little felted dogs!It features 24 different types of dogs to felt, and a short introduction to Needle Felting Basics which includes instructions such as:"What is Needle Felting?""Basic Materials and Tools""Felting Toolbox""Basic TechniquesThe author explains what type of needle is needed and why it's important to get the right kind. She also gets into the different types of Wool and what types work best for each project.The different projects range in difficulty. For example, the Golden Retriever puppies appear to be easier than the Pug Puppy. For each felted dog, there is a recipe for items needed. It lists the color of wool you will need for the body, ears and tail, as well as the colors you will need for the body. It also mentions any other supplies you might need such as glass eyes or pipe cleaners.The instructions are pretty detailed, explaining how to construct the dog, what sizes to aim for, and sometimes listing small notes which give helpful tips on how to make the felted dog look more like an actual dog.All in all, I thought this was a fantastic book for the price. It's hardcover makes it durable and easy to work with when creating a project, and it includes plenty of projects to stay busy for awhile! This book would be excellent for tweens on up to adults. This book is SO cute. I've done other needle felting projects in the past, including a three-dimensional meerkat, panda, and penguin. Let me begin by admitting that needle felting is one of my least favorite crafts. There are so many hours that go into needle felting, that most people who look at your finished craft won't even begin to realize. In fact, probably the biggest surprise of this book, for me, is how large the dogs are (larger than any needle felted critters I've made before). Larger equals more work. That being said, once you're done you'll really have something to be proud of.This book is cute even for the adorable photos of the author's creations, but I bet you're wondering more about the instructions, right? If so, they're pretty good. It's kind of hard to give instructions on how to needle felt, because it's almost like making something out of clay in that you can't give exact instructions as you can with a crocheting, knitting, or sewing project, or something similar. How the critter turns out is very dependent on the skills of the crafter.However, I do think that it could have been made easier for beginners by doing a couple of things:(1) Photos. As I made a dog, I kept wishing I could see it from lots of different angles. I ended up doing a web image search to see more about how a Westie's hair looks, for example. It would have been good to see photos not only of Yamazaki's dog creations from many angles, but also the real-life dogs they are based on. This issue is easily resolved just by going on a search engine, but it would be nice if the book contained more photos.(2) Life-sized charts. Not life-sized of real dogs! :) But of the projects. There are charts in the book, but they're not sized at 100%. I think that if they were, this would be a huge help for beginners, as they could place their felted shapes directly on the book in order to make sure they're getting the dimensions exact.I'm the type of person who thinks that if you're going to be a good needle felter, all you need are photos of what you're trying to make. That being said, this books has really cute ideas that even an experienced needle felter might not think of (such as how the toy poodle's coat is achieved). And it's cute just to look through, and see the cute creations.Tip: If you just need a tiny bit of wool, you can use 100% wool yarn. I did this for the nose and ears' interiors. Begin by cutting a length of yarn and pulling the ply apart, then fluffing it until it separates. You can then use it as you do the felting wool.I've included some pics of the westie I made. I used what I had on hand (100% natural wool without other shades removed), so he kind of looks like he's in need of a bath.

Could have used more step by step photos for each dog breed, not just general body shaping. This is "just ok" for very beginners.

I love needle felting and this book is a must have for fiber artists. The book has easy to follow instructions with pictures of many different breeds of dogs you can create with needle felting.While the book is small in size it's a treasure trove of knowledge for beginners or advanced artists.If you enjoy felting small items, specifically dogs you will love this book!

I'm pleasantly surprised with this book! I was thinking it was only patterns for the dogs shown on the cover but there are paterns for 24 breeds! There are lots of photos. I haven't made anything (just got it today) but I've read through and feel prepared.

I like this book, and will continue to use it. I needed more help with shaping of the head. I floundered a little with lack of direction. I needed to know more about how "to shape" the head. How does one arrive at that shape?The basic dog shapes are cute.

Super ideas about where to eat off the beaten tourist path..Used another of Well's books back in the early 90's in Paris and enjoyed wonderful neighborhood restaurants that were moderate in cost with great menus.

I owned a previous edition of this book and used it for a trip to Paris in 1995. Using that book as our guide, we gathered supplies in specialty markets near our hotel for a picnic in a local park. This book made it easy to do because it's arranged by category - for example: cheese shops, chocolate shops, street markets. In each category it's divided by arrondisement, so where ever you are, you can find what you need. Since we were planning another trip to Paris this year (2015), we got this newest edition. We are happy we did because there are a lot of new entries. Once again, it was our go-to book.

I've had a couple of wonderful French recipe books written by Patricia Wells and loved them. A couple of months ago, a young friend of mine said she wanted to go to Paris with me next year. I go often, so I kind of know my way around, and as far as I'm concerned, there's no such thing as going too often to Paris! Since my friend is a "foodie" and swears I'm one too, she wants to go to as many patisseries, boulangeries, fromageries, etc., we can fit in. I thought I'd check Amazon and see what books they had on the subject. Turns out that Patricia Wells' most recently edited and updated version of The Food Lover's Guide to Paris (2014) had just shown up on Amazon, so I grabbed it fast! It's wonderful, of course, and I second all the comments other reviewers have made regarding the previous edition. I think I particularly like the fact that the sections are broken into the different arrondisements, which seems like a really great idea. You'll spend hours reading this book, from cover to cover. Tons of photos, recipes, etc. I can't imagine anyone reading this book and not wanting to fly to Paris - of which I heard Arthur Frommer say years ago is "The most glorious city in the world!" Truer words were never spoken!

"The Food Lover's Guide to Paris" by Patricia Wells is a completely revised edition of her popular Parisian restaurant guide. The new guide reviews the best restaurants, bistros, cafes, markets, bakeries and includes some recipes as well. If I were going to Paris, this book would be going with me. Each section begins with a brief overview of what to anticipate within that grouping and then details the recommended restaurant/bistro/cafe by Arrondissement. Some details include: the type of cuisine, address, phone #, closest Metro stations, days open and closed, prices, specialties and and atmosphere (with suggestions on what to wear). I wish, I'd had this book back in October 2012, during a two week stay in Paris.

Excellent book, at least in the limited area of restaurant recommendations that I used recently. Had a very good success rate, better than ever before when I sourced my dining venues mainly from Pudlo (the only English translation from 2007, so really dated now) and "Hungry for Paris" by Alex Lobrano. Out of 6 meals (all places medium-priced, with most dinners between 120 and 150 euro for two) only one was a real disappointment (reported to the author's staff), others ranged from very good to excellent

I have really enjoyed reading about Patricia Wells' favorite food spots around the Paris. I am looking forward to trying out some of her suggestions, especially the wine shops and kitchen supply shops.I sort of wish there were a few "if you are staying in arrondisement "X", this isn't a bad choice, even though it isn't in my all-time favorite list", but I guess that isn't what she was going for in this book.

I used to be terrified of speaking in front of a group. As I’ve matured, I’m no longer terrified, but still find it uncomfortable and worse, I can’t think of anything interesting to say. If you cannot interest your audience, you’re going to lose them in about 30 seconds. After reading Magic of Impromptu Speaking, I feel more confident than ever with public speaking. Author Andrii Sedniev presents the most effective public speaking techniques from all over the world in this useful guide, including winners of speaking contests to politicians to stand-up comedians to actors. When speaking in front of an audience, inexperience is usually obvious. The methods outlined in this book eliminates the mistakes that inexperienced and nervous speakers often have. But these proven techniques don’t just apply to speaking in front of a group, but it also works with face-to-face conversations. I’m definitely not a small-talker, but I do enjoy interesting one-to-one. Getting to know these impromptu skills will help you begin conversations and build into interesting lively discussions. This is an excellent book for anyone so hate speaking to an audience or just has a bit of trouble starting conversations.

Short and easy read. The advice in this book is probably best suited for a newbie / someone with no public speaking or teaching experience. As a long-time college teacher, I found much of the advice in this book to be good, but obvious. I did find a few gems that I really liked. My favorite tip is, "When you speak in front of the audience, it's not a private conversation anymore and your goal is not to say what you really think but to give value. Be creative, avoid predictable directions and your speeches will be remembered for years."

Magic of Impromptu Speaking presents aspiring speakers with an excellent system of improving one's own natural speech as well as one's ability to interact with others, present dynamic and intriguing points of view, and command attention and respect by aweing audiences with memorable impromptu speeches, decorated with personal experience, humorous storytelling, and conflict resolution.As a veteran of impromptu speaking, myself, having competed in and won several impromptu-speaking competitions through academic Speech & Debate tournaments and the like, I must say that I found Andrii Sedniev's guide to impromptu speaking both original as well as delightfully thorough. Not only are all of the tips, advice, and step-by-step instructions meticulously described, but each is also paired with a variety of helpful examples and suggestions. This truly works wonders for advice guides and manuals, because without helpful suggestions and examples from actual experts, rules, tips, and advice fail to become anything more than general knowledge, open to imagination, and while that may work for some, I prefer specifics. This guide absolutely delivers.One of the most comforting, as well as compelling, bits of knowledge shared in this book is the fact that the "best improvisation isn't improvisation." Sedniev explains to readers that much of the magic behind impromptu speaking is simple preparedness, including practicing speeches and answers that incorporate a variety of different possibilities ahead of time so as to cover one's bases when dealing with an actual, interactive audience's questions.I also greatly enjoyed the incorporation of the PEEP approach to impromptu speaking, which stands for "Point, Explanation, Example, and Point." While much of the success of many impromptu speakers can be attributed to their incredible storytelling abilities or the recounting of personal experiences, many others, myself included, like to follow a planned guideline of speaking--making a valid point, explaining said point, providing examples, and then reinforcing the point. This structure has proven greatly beneficial in my own impromptu speeches.The greatest bit of advice, in my opinion, though, was that of how to think on your feet. While I can attest to the usefulness of many of the elements exhibited in Sedniev's system, such as positive attitude, energetic demeanor, and preparedness, I absolutely rejoiced over the section about how to think on your feet, particularly the part about stopping your internal dialogue. This has always been a major issue for me, though I have learned to overcome it. Too often when asked a question or made to speak on the spot, the analytical left brain kicks in, numbing your mind with worry, fear, and ultimately, causes you to overthink your answers. Sedniev's system suggests quickly and effectively shutting down the overly analytical left brain by latching onto the first thought and running with it. I found this advice to be the most beneficial to speakers, as fear and nerves can often get in the way.Sedniev's Magic of Impromptu Speaking far from disappoints. But for a few hitches in editing here and there, it is not only wonderfully meticulous, but is also rich with examples and thorough enough to have you on your way to becoming an incredible impromptu speaker.

There are very few books that deals with impromptu speaking in such a clear manner. More examples would definitely help but still we can revisit the book more often to gain experience with the strategies. The best ones are to use slant technique and to use the transition strategies to get back to what you want to talk irrespective of the topic posed to you. Great read. Don't miss.

Sedniev applies widely known methodologies in a condensed and swift read. It's a solid reference, but as the author clearly explains, there is simply no substitute for experiene. Deliberate application of Sedniev's methods in actual practice will make anyone a better impromptu speaker.

Quick read and very useful. Anyone is bound to pick up a useful nugget. I ended up using the 100 questions at the end for our cocktail party dinners.

As our family grows and formal get-together's make a come back, I have found myself giving more speeches than I could ever imagined giving. I don't have a problem with public speaking, in fact, I do it every single day, but trying to sounds eloquent on short notice is more challenging. Not normally a fan of self-help style books, I set out looking for more of a guide to help with those short notice, impromptu speeches when I came upon this book. The author has given us a very well written guide to makes speeches that doesn't read like a self-help book. It is more like the author is sitting down with the reader and helping them through making an impromptu speech. The author even shares many of his own tips and tricks with the reader to make that speech sound effortless. He is very genuine and knows what he is talking about. In my opinion, this book should be required reading in every college-level public speaking class, that's how useful it is. After reading this book, I am now looking forward to the six birthdays, four weddings and countless other gatherings our family has coming up.
